Thom and Sherry Cahill

Tanzania

Thom and Sherry served a two-year term as VISA Missionaries with the Free Methodist Church in Kenya and are transitioning to Extended-Term service. With their role of leadership development and discipleship, they worked with Springs of Hope Bible School; led seminars with the Free Methodist Church of Kenya; and leading one-on-one and small group Bible studies with local university students.

Thom and Sherry arrived in February 2019 for partnership building and will return to Africa once support levels are where they need to be. It is anticipated they will work as consultants and lecturers, with a new Free Methodist Bible college to train pastors and leaders in Tanzania at Evart Bible College. They have three adult children (Jon and wife Jocelyn, Katie, and James and his wife Michelle).

Al and Diane Mellinger

Bulgaria

The Mellingers serve as regional leaders in the Balkans. They oversee the work of Team Bulgaria which includes the Light and Life FMC in Bulgaria, The Anagenesis Foundation and New Start LLC (a company of creative livelihood groups and micro-enterprise businesses). Team Bulgaria consists of four additional missionary families and many nationals. The Team is developing a holistic approach to ministry that includes the spiritual, educational, economic and social programs that work together to serve people.

Mike and Vickie Reynen

Africa

The Reynens reside in Kenya, but Mike’s responsibilities as Africa Area Director take him around the continent, working with the missionary team and in partnership with national churches. Vickie is Regional Coordinator for International Child Care Ministries (ICCM), which puts her in regular communication with national coordinators in eight countries. Their children reside in the states: Kyle and his wife, Maddie, are students at Spring Arbor University; Kelly lives in Indiana; Kenzie and her husband, Jamie, also live in Indiana. Mike grew up attending the Austin (MN) Bethlehem FM Church in our conference.
